| Breakfast from Hure
|

| I bought a pastry from Hure again, this time a boule a la orange. It
was a large, light (yeasted) ball dotted with tiny cubes of candied
orange. You can see a couple on the outside in the bottom-left of this
picture.

We visited this market four days earlier.
| Pretty flowers.
| There was a section of the market with covered stalls that wasn't there
last time.
| Large octopuses. Also note the large fish curved around them ("scad")
as well as the sardines.

| Lunch at Home

Our lunch at home:
- triangle ravioli (I forget the official name) filled with mashed
pesto (from the
market) -
disappointing. The pasta dough was tough / hard.
- oyster mushrooms and broad beans sauteed in butter - good.
- frisee and eggplant in vinaigrette.

| Saint Merry Church
|
|

| Inside Saint Merry church, a couple blocks from our apartment. (We
happened to walk by when it was open.) I previously photographed the outside.
| The church has some nice stained glass. We're kind of used to this now.
(I wrote in my notebook, "yet more stained glass.")

| Musee d'Orsay and Vicinity

| The Musee d'Orsay is housed in an old, rather ornate railroad station.
| On the side with the main entrance, the way the roof sticks out makes it
obvious that it used to be a transportation hub.
There are also some metal statues out front (not shown in this
photograph).

I like Van Gogh's Eglise
d'Auvers.
| We took a break from the museum for a mid-afternoon aperitif. I had a
kir au sauvignon, basically wine mixed with blackcurrant syrup.
Basically it tasted like a fruit juice cocktail. Decent.
