Di Yin and I stopped for lunch at the food court by the Super 88 in Allston/Brookline. We had very good shrimp won ton soup from a stand we've eaten at before and some good spicy bamboo shoots with pork from a Taiwanese stand.
Since we had a late lunch, all we had for dinner was a good "planet salad" from Veggie Planet. We've ordered it before

Di Yin, some of her new housemates, and I ordered take-out from Punjabi Dhaba. We had eggplant curry and chicken biryani: both good. We've eaten there before (1,2).

"Msaah: baked eggplant with chickpeas, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and
a special sauce. Served with rice pilaf." Pretty bland. Maybe I was
subconsciously expecting more an Indian version of the dish, but I kept
thinking how this wasn't as good as the chickpea dishes I make at home.
"Pumpkin kibby: ground pumpkin, cracked wheat, onions, and spices.
Served with yogurt." Frankly, it was none too exciting.
We had a disappointing dinner at The Middle East Restaurant in Central Square.
