Lunch: Le's
Le's, a relatively upscale pho joint, is located in a small food court
near Harvard Square.
Le's interior.
"Dac Biet: Beef noodle soup containing sliced rare eye round, well done
brisket, flank, tendon and tripe."
The only bowl of pho I can recall ever actually liking. Maybe it was the
setting: a hot bowl of soup on a cold day. Maybe it was the quality of
the pho. Maybe it was the bit of chile sauce I added. (I usually forget
it.) All the meats were decent except for the tripe, which I never
like. (I ordered this bowl because the menu claimed it was one of
Le's most popular.)

The thin noodles are hidden under the surface.

Logan Airport was eerily empty. There were No lines at ticket counters. There were no lines at security. (I almost didn't think that the security checkpoint was open.) The only big group of people I saw was at the gate to my flight. But still the crowd wasn't that large--nearly every middle seat in the plane was unoccupied.
I didn't feel much like doing anything useful during the the flight. Instead, I listened to talk discussions on my iPod and watched the minutes tick by, waiting until it was an appropriate time for dinner (in Pacific time) so I could open the bag of food I carried on.
