August 4th 2006: Yaletown, Granville Island, UBC, Museum of Anthropology, Japanese Garden, Richmond Night Market

Of the three movies:

• One movie is a panorama looking west from the tip of UBC (University of British Columbia). It was taken near the Museum of Anthropology.
• Two are of Nitobe Garden, a Japanese garden at UBC. One movie is a panorama of the garden from the gazebo in the center of the garden. I took the movie by sliding around the gazebo as I filmed. The other movie is of the light pattern on the wall by a small canal near Nitobe garden. Light reflecting off the waves in the canal produced the neat pattern.

The visible storage section of the museum had many items, including this impressive collection of masks. All the items in visible storage were as densely packed as the items at the Met.	Out back are some totems and houses like the kind in which the Indians who made these totems resided.
Nitobe Memorial Garden
The gazebo. I later took a panoramic movie by pointing my camera out and walking around the outside of the gazebo.	A nice path curving through old growth foliage in the garden.	A waterfall and stream.	A placid lake. Sadly, the photograph is overexposed in places.
A better picture of the same scene.	Excellent. Such depth of field and color. I only wish I took it at a higher resolution.
Richmond Night Market
The "entrance" to the night market involved walking from one part of a parking lot to another.	This picture captures the feel of the market. No, I don't know why different rows of booths were different colors.	"As Seen On TV." Really, he was just like one of the guys one sees on late night infomercials.	BBQ duck wrap. Decent, though had way too much hoisin sauce.
Pork bun.	Takoyaki: dumplings made of batter, octopus, and other stuff. Hearty.	Korean pancake.	BBQ squid. Spicy and tough but not chewy.
Shrimp dumpling.	Spicy fish balls. Okay. So smooth and chewy, it's weird.	Shu mai.	Curry puff.
Hot and sour soup.	Fried pork bun. Most past dishes were fine enough. This, however, was good and therefore a nice way to end.
