We pass another boat like ours, with the tour guide standing up front.
| Even rivers have traffic signs.
| A kid and his small boat.
I think I should title this photo Brown.
| Some buildings in the floating village.

A playground on the land nearby.
| This floating house either has a lot of clothes for laundry or it's a
clothing shop.
| Rather ramshackle huts near the water.
| A long straw building, well maintained.

A family on a boat. Excellent. The little boy waved at us.
| Looking farther down the river from where we turned around.

Kids playing in dirt.
| I feel like this floating building probably sells something, but I'm not
sure what.
| Of all my pictures, this one best captures the look of the floating
village.

|
Gazebos and boats near the floating village.
|
As we disembarked, we were offered clay dishes that had been silk screened
with images of our faces. We declined the dishes. They'd surreptiously
taken our pictures when we stood on the dock before our boat ride.

Rickshaw Ride back from Floating Village

Rice paddies, I think, as seen once again from the tuk-tuk we rode back
into town.
| I'm amazed all the houses next to the road are raised so high above ground
level. The wet season must cause a ton of flooding!
| We passed some carabao / water buffalo being herded down the street.
Also notice the arch in the background.
| Ditto.

Bright, clean children's clothes hanging outside of a raised,
wood-and-straw house.
| A straw house above a river by rice fields.
| People working in the fields.
| Ditto.

|
People hanging out in a rice field.
| A rickety hut, plus pink pajamas hanging on the line.
| A frail bridge I managed to snap a picture of between the trees. (You
don't know how many pictures I attempted of similar bridges that didn't
come out. A lot.)
| Some "walls" of this straw building don't look like they're at the
correct angles.

This picture has everything: high buildings on stilts, clothes hanging to
dry (under the building!), a river, motorcycles, and a naked baby playing
in the dirt.
| I guess this is how many people on the outskirts of the city live.
| A family on their deck.
By the way, raised houses give one a lot of storage space.

Other people on the road. The teenager was returning home from school.
(We know because we saw many young people in the uniform as we traveled
Siem Reap over the last few days.) No one who lives this far from
the town centre can afford a car.
| An area for storing lumber.
Nominated for excellent due to its "variety of brown and green details."
| These buildings across the river look unsound to me. (The supports seem
haphazardly placed and a mishmash of materials.)
| Over a bridge, the gate to one of the town's temples.
