| The meal ended with bbq pork buns (top) and red bean soup with rice
dumpling balls (bottom). I didn't think I'd ever see bbq pork buns in
Shanghai, instead always picking up my fill when in Hong Kong or Singapore
or even the states. As for the red bean soup (which was also good), I
later learned that it's traditional to eat soup with rice balls on the
fifteen day of the Chinese New Year (the last big day of the holiday).
Neat that I got to participate in the tradition.
| A movie, taken entirely for the sound (ignore the video), of the
cacophony of firecrackers that happened on and off the whole evening
(mostly on) as people celebrated on the last day of the Chinese New Year
holiday. It went on most of the evening. Tons of impromptu celebrations,
big and small, and, of course, all unlicensed.
