"Hotel" (Richmond)
The hotel (actually residential house) where we stayed for a few days.
| Its neighborhood.
| A video of our room. "Very very clean." Hardwood floors.
Recorded the previous day.
| The fancy chandelier in our room.
Taken the previous day.
Breakfast
A tea egg (hard-boiled egg stewed in tea).
| Leftover pan au chocolat from the bakery Le Panier at Seattle's Pike
Place market. It survived the night as well as could be expected.
Granville Island (Vancouver)
Granville
Island's entrance, under a bridge.
| One aisle in Granville Island's public market. Lots of meat.
| Another aisle. Lots of fruit.
| More fruit. Excellent for its lively colors. And look how tall
the towers of cherries are.
Many bagels, from Siegel's Bagels.
| Oh my, look at all the cured meats (from Oyama). If you view the
full-sized image, you can read the labels.
| More of Oyama's meats. If you look closely, you can spot the "special of
the house" duck prosciutto, which I bought some of.
| Terra Breads, Granville Island's answer to San Francisco's Acme.
Very good red snapper chowder and focaccia from The Stock Pot. The
chowder was like a bisque made from fish, lime, cilantro, and chipotle.
The focaccia was warm and not too salty, better than most focaccia
I've had.
| Rosemary salt bagel from Siegel's Bagels.
| Duck prosciutto from Oyama. It melted in my mouth.
| Smoked salmon.
Salmon jerky.
| Poppy seed hamantaschen. It was cake-y and big, with the filling only in
the center. I'd describe the filling as "nut butter" or an earthy cross
between seeds and nuts.

Model Train and Ships Museum (Granville Island)
U.S.S. Constitution, the first sight in the Model Train and Ships Museum.
| The plaque describing the previous model.
| One model train layout.
| The fuzzy label attached to the previous diorama.
One case (of many) with model trains.
| The museum has some vaguely interesting plaques such as this one,
describing the history of particular model train companies. I think this plaque goes with the trains in the previous picture.
| Another large layout.
| And another.
Details about the previous layout that help put it in context.
| Many model train cars.
| A map of the focal point of the museum: a large model train layout.
| A description of the trees in this layout and how they were made.
A plaque that mentions a few animals are hidden in this layout. I found them all. :)
| Part of the layout.
| Tunnels through one part of the mountain.
| Bridges.
