I grabbed lunch at Cibo Bistro and Wine Bar in Philadelphia. I ordered
the house salad, which came topped with apple, zucchini, and tomato, and
dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. It's one of the best salads I've had
in an airport. (I eat them relatively often when flying, a kind of
counter to the unhealthy snack food one gets served on planes.) The
salad was actually a bet--the cafe didn't have any salads on display, so
I couldn't evaluate their appearance. Rather, I figured the cafe looked
fancy enough (and expensive enough) that it ought to have good salads,
so I ordered one.

I had a quick breakfast of homemade banana bread muffins and an orange.
My first flight, Boston to Philadelphia, was short and easy. I read most of the way. Incidentally, I had an empty seat next to me.

The second flight was delayed after boarding for quite a while as mechanics fixed a problem.

I once again had an empty seat next to me.
During the second flight, I felt sick. I don't think it was likely caused by the salad. (The only item in the salad that could obviously go bad was the feta cheese. But I didn't like the feta cheese and so didn't eat much of it.) Rather, the flight felt slightly turbulent the whole way. I think my reading at the beginning of the flight gave me a headache before I noticed the difficulty, and the headache never left. And then, near the end of the flight, I felt even worse, but I simply think that was from low blood sugar. When I finally had dinner at home, with lots of soothing white rice, I started feeling a bit better.
