| A random street at night. One can see the lights decorating one of
the Old Town's gates in the distance.
| A video of the hustle and bustle of a downtown intersection in India at
night.
| One of the traffic lights supposedly controlling the intersection is
either dark or simply blinks yellow. Given that a blinking yellow
roughly means, "do what you want when you want, just be careful doing
it," this perfectly describes driving habits in India.
| Jaipur's train station is relatively attractive. This picture is
of a decorative train out front, outlined in lights.

| Evening Drinks: Steam
|
|
|
|
|
| Steam,
the first bar to which we went, had some regular seating and some
seating available in a railroad car. We selected the railroad car.
| The front of the car.
| N and J in the plush interior of our car.

| Our jalapeno poppers were cheesy and fairly decent. We thought they
likely came frozen from a package.
| Our drinks:- red wine (decent, N says, but only because
she hadn't had wine in ages)
- steamopolitan (vodka, melon liquor,
pureed honeydew)
- caipiroschka (vodka, lemon juice, lemon
wedges, demerara brown sugar, crushed ice)
along with the bar
snacks of potato chips and lentils.
| With drinks, I had an Indian sweet from our box: kesari dudh mathai. J liked it; N
did not. I thought it was decent. It had a chalky, saffron flavor.

| Evening Drinks: Polo
|
|
|
|
| Polo,
another bar at the same hotel, and our second destination for the night.
| Our drinks:- red wine
- lychee
margarita
- manhattan
| With drinks, I had an Indian sweet from our box: chhum chum. It was fairly good, heavy with
condensed milk.
