| Red Fort (within Old Delhi)
| Our first glimpse of the Red Fort.
| A large panorama of this side of the Red Fort.
| The Lahore Gate entrance to the fort. Look at all the detailing. Can
you imagine how stunning it might be if all the places for inlaid tiles
were filled?
| A brief history of the fort.
| There are shops inside the main gateway in the fort.
| Because the fort housed the emperor's palace, it included courts,
personal quarters, baths, and more.
| | The carvings are quite detailed.
| I love the effect of receding archways.
| | Too bad there was no water.
| A 360-degree panorama of one area inside the Red Fort. I like the style
of buildings visible in the latter half of the video.
Some nearby minarets. (I'm not sure if they're within the fort or not.)
This wall needs a fresh coat of paint.
| Once again, if only there was water and fresh paint.
At this point, I said, if the Taj Mahal also doesn't have water, I'm
flying home early.
| The Diwan-I-Khas (private audience hall) still had some inlaid colored
tiles. If you view the full-sized image, you can see the details
on the ceiling.
| Another part of the Diwan-I-Khas.

| More Old Delhi
| A good, long movie showing what it's like to be on a cycle-rickshaw
going through Old Delhi at night. Needs sound for the true effect. A
sharp-eyed observer will notice an animal pulling a cart near the
beginning of the video.
| Jama Masjid, supposedly the largest mosque in Asia, is nicely outlined
in lights at night.
| Another shot of the mosque.
| And another.
| Another movie of Old Delhi at night, with traffic congestion. This
video has quite crisp images, perhaps due to our slow speed.
| Traffic clears up and we travel faster. Look at all the shops we pass.
| No longer on the cycle-rickshaw, I took a picture of the crowd on an
arbitrary street in Old Delhi. There's quite a number of people.

| Snack at Piccadelhi in Connaught Place
Piccadelhi, a British-themed restaurant in Connaught Place, where we
grabbed a snack. They even have one of those classic double-decker red
London buses.
Artificially brightened.
| The snack.
Artificially brightened.
I tried a friend's masala lassi. It was interesting, with flavors of
mint and coriander. I'd describe it as something like a drinkable
salad.

| Relaxing
| J and N zone out near the end of our stressful day.
| Dinner at Veda
The atmospheric interior of Veda. I think the design is
awesome! (Some people thought it was a bit over the top. I know it's
over the top, but I love it.) The restaurant played club music;
it seemed to match the decor.
| The ornate ceiling.
| J is not the devil.
| In fact, she's amused.
