March 28th 2007: All Over The Place

Two movies (1,2) are of the accordion book Guerre du Jour by Larry Thomas. I figured it was easier to record the small book as a video than to take twenty-six separate pictures. Just watch the two videos with your finger on the pause button so you can pause at each page and read it. Other than that, this piece of literature needs no further introduction.

The other movie is of a drive down a random street in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. After driving through this neighborhood for a while, I recorded the video to prove that I found yet another nice neighborhood in Atlanta, filled with distinctive houses and dense foliage. I hadn't driven down this street before filming it nor did I know anything about it. I didn't even have much of an idea where I was going.

There are movies associated with this collection.

The Bank of America Tower near sunset.
The nicely landscaped Carter Center. I hadn't planned to make it a
destination during this trip but I took a wrong turn and found myself
there. It was pretty so I had to photograph it. Regardless, the
library/museum doesn't interest me greatly so I probably would've
skipped entering even if it were open when I accidentally found myself
there.
In the opposite direction from the previous photo is a roundabout
surrounded by flags. It looks like they even have the right density of
trees. Apparently the center has a biking/running path that goes
through the grounds then off into the rest of Atlanta. I can only
imagine how pleasant traveling it would be.
Every nice neighborhood must have an old, independent movie theater.

My small but comfortable room at the Microtel Inn in Smyrna, GA. Sadly,
the selection of cable stations was very limited.
