Nov 5th 2006 - Dia de Los Muertos Festival

Since I didn't want to try to find parking near the festival, I drove to Hayward to take the BART. That explains the first two pictures. As for the movies, two are of people in head dresses dancing to drumming and two are of mariachi bands. At first I thought the second Aztec dance group was the same as the first but realized they couldn't have moved to the new location without me seeing them. (Also, when I left, the first group was still at its original location.) Similarly, at first I thought the second mariachi band was the same as the first (because all mariachi sounds the same to me). I took the second mariachi video so I could go back later and check: yes, they are different bands.

There are movies associated with this collection.

Another altar.
And another altar. See how much the styles varied?

Yet another altar. All the altars were colorful celebrations of death.
A creative and cute handbag. I would've taken a better picture had I not
been swept along with the crowd.
