Morning
We slept the night of the 7th and some of the following nights in a
friend's artistically decorated apartment. It has a high ceiling and
marbled floors.
The doorbell makes the sound of a bird. How great is that?

Khan Market
For lunch, we headed to Khan Market, a fairly upscale shopping district.
On the way, we saw many auto rickshaws, these green and yellow
three-wheeled vehicles that are used much like taxis.
In Khan Market, we double-parked, as we were supposed to, and left our
car in neutral. Assistants push the car as appropriate to let
people out or in of parking spots. It's like valet parking but you get
to keep your keys.
| One street within the market.
| Another street within the market. Notice all the hanging electrical
lines.

At one store, the name on the security guard's uniform said "Sharp Eyed
Group." :)

Lunch at Chokola
We went to Khan Market to have lunch at Chokola, a Western-style eatery
serving eggs, chocolate drinks, truffles, pizzas, tapas, and more.
Here's the entrance.
| Part of Chokola's interior. I like the textured wall at right. There are
display cases of artisanal chocolate off the left side of the picture.
I apparently didn't take pictures of the stars of our visits to Chokola:
our chocolate drinks. If these chocolate drinks weren't the best in my
life, they were certainly up there. I had a great hot chocolate. Other
people had a really good cool chocolate drink, and a thick hazelnut
chocolate drink. (I tried them both.)
| French toast Interestingly, topped with grapes.

A mini-pizza.
| A passable omelette.
| Another passable omelette, along with a good fresh fruit compote.

Humayun's Tomb Complex
Our first stop within the complex was the Isa Khan Tomb.
| The tomb/mosque itself.

In America, there'd no doubt be a rope preventing people from getting
too close to the edge.

| Fun with framing.

tomb's enclosure.

More fun with framing.
The gate one approaches before the West Gate.
| A random gate.
| West Gate.
I was surprised to see Stars of David on the structure.
| West Gate's description. This explains the Stars of David that we
saw on this structure and in general not infrequently throughout India.
There's more description on the web about the connection between the
Mughali use of the six-sided star and the Jewish one.
