At left, a pork (lomito) sandwich which I watched a woman make by hand. The pork was fatty, tendony, and not good quality. Whereas many sandwiches get richness from mayonnaise, this one got it from a thick layer of guacamole. What a neat idea! The sandwich also contained salted tomato slices.
At right, an empanada containing ground meat, onions, dark olives, and a hard-boiled egg. Although I didn't like it at first, it definitely grew on me. It was better than the sandwich.
